ink 101

Ink is a fun medium to get into. Most beginner artists are perfectionists. But with ink, it allows you to mark the paper without hesitation and it prevents you from erasing your work. Your warm ups are fast and fun.

Bring a small journal with you, and whenever you have time, draw your surroundings. Your drawings will look like crap at the beginning but trust me, it will be better. If you want to approach ink a different way, you can always trace over your drawings with ink and start with pencil. No shame in that.

But the reason I love ink so much is the ability for me to move on with my work. Ink is permanent and I am not left with something I can continue to tweak.

(My drawing above is ink and graphite)
